Halloween is just around the corner. Are you planning your own party? Or have you been invited and would like to bring something? The food should be a treat , but also a spooky eye-catcher.
Cut fingers (for 16 pieces)
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees.
Roll out a rectangular sheet of puff pastry or use dough that has already been rolled out.
Cut 8 Wienerli or Knackerli in half. Cut the puff pastry into 16 square pieces so that you can wrap each half sausage. Cut out a piece at the round part of the sausage so that it looks like the sausage is a fingernail. Press the dough behind the "fingernail" crosswise with a knife so that finger joints are visible. Place the fingers on a baking tray lined with baking paper and brush with egg yolk. Bake for 12 - 15 minutes until golden brown. Leave the puff pastry fingers to cool slightly. Arrange the fingers on a round plate. Make sure the fingertips are facing outwards. Pour ketchup into the center of the finger tips.
And you have "bloody" severed fingers for a feast.

Googly eyes
Open a tin of pitted lychees and drain them. Using an espresso spoon or a piping bag, fill the lychee with a dab of red jam . You can use anything from strawberry, redcurrant or rosehip to suit your taste. Insert a blueberry into each lychee opening. Push a toothpick through the blueberry into the lychee to hold it in place.
Serve the googly eyes arranged on a plate or in a clear drink for a spooky addition.

Spider muffins(for 12)
Preheat your oven to 160 degrees. Butter a muffin tin with 12 cavities or use paper cases.
Mix 2 eggs, 80ml oil, 100g sugar and 3dl buttermilk. Sift in 200g flour, 3 tbsp cocoa powder, 3 l baking powder and mix everything into a batter. Pour the batter into the tins and bake for 20 minutes. Leave the muffins to cool completely.
Melt 100g dark chocolate coating. Cut licorice sticks or rolled-up licorice slices so that you have 96 narrow pieces about 7 cm long - these will serve as spider legs.
Glaze the muffins with chocolate coating. Press 4 licorice sticks onto each side of the muffins so that each spider has 8 legs. Place two Smarties on each muffin as eyes. Sprinkle the spiders with additional chocolate sprinkles.
