Spooky Halloween dinner

Young and old will be delighted

Halloween is just around the corner. Everyone can dress up and get spooky. It's not just adults who like to celebrate. Children also enjoy celebrating a special festival with their peers. Dressing up for it - even better! Enjoying food and drinks in keeping with the theme - even better!
Here are a few spooky recipes for your successful party.

The chopped fingers
Mix 125g sugar, 250g butter, 1 pinch of salt, 500g flour, a little grated lemon zest and 2 egg yolks to make a shortcrust pastry. Chill it for 2 hours. Shape the dough into fingers and press half an almond onto the tip as a fingernail. Use a knife to press in the finger indentations at the joints. Whisk an egg yolk and brush the finger biscuits with it. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 15 - 20 minutes until golden brown.

Lonely hand
Prepare 5dl of vanilla custard - homemade or mixed.
Rinse a disposable plastic glove with water. Pour in the custard and tie the back of the glove with string. Place the glove in the freezer, placing something on the palm of the hand so that it is slightly pressed in on one side - the inside of the hand.
Take the custard out of the freezer, carefully cut open the glove and remove it. Place the pudding hand on a larger plate or platter and allow it to defrost a little.
Puree 3-4 tbsp of plum or strawberry jam and spread it on the wrist of the pudding hand. Carefully press a few furrows into the fingers to make the hand look even more real. Press an almond flake onto the end of each finger for the fingernails.

Scary punch
Take an ice cube tray and place 3-4 raisins in each compartment. Fill up with water and freeze the ice cubes. Prepare the ice cubes a day in advance so that they can freeze completely. When the ice cubes float in the punch, the raisins look like flies or other insects.
Fill a glass carafe 1/2 full with orange juice. Add a dash of raspberry syrup and a few ice cubes. Fill the carafe with sparkling mineral water .

Happy spookiness and a spooky Halloween!
