Summer freshness on a stick

Light, surprising and wonderfully refreshing, this watermelon and feta salad will accompany you through warm days. Served on a stick, it turns a simple salad into a cheerful eye-catcher for family and guests.

When the sun is high and the appetite calls for something fresh, watermelon cools you down immediately. Combined with salty feta, it creates an interplay of sweetness and spice that will delight young and old alike. Served as a salad on a stick, this delicacy is easy to enjoy without the need for plates or cutlery. Whether in the garden, by the lake or at a cozy get-together after a swim, this snack is always a good choice.

It is easy to prepare and is also fun for children. Juicy watermelon is cut into bite-sized pieces and the feta is carefully diced. A sharp knife can be used to cut beautiful shapes, which later hold well on a wooden stick. Fresh mint or basil from the herb pot provides an additional aroma and brings a touch of the garden to the plate, or rather, to the stem. A squeeze of lemon juice or a few drops of olive oil round off the taste. If you like it a little crunchy, add fine cucumber slices or a few roasted pine nuts.

This summer snack is also visually appealing. The vibrant red of the melon, the bright white of the feta and the fresh green of the herbs bring color to the table. Served on a large platter, the stems invite you to grab them and quickly create a good atmosphere. The preparation is easy to prepare, so you have more time for your guests or for relaxed family moments.
