Green smoothies

Vegetable and fruity drinks

Smoothies are all the rage. Green smoothies in particular are considered to be especially healthy and rich in nutrients.
Smoothies can replace a portion of this food group for people who don't like salad or vegetables .

Follow a few basic rules:

  • Blend the smoothies really creamy. The longer you blend, the smoother the consistency will be.
  • Enjoy your smoothies well chilled.
  • Only use fruit and vegetables that you like raw.

Suitable green leafy vegetables

  • Dandelion
  • purslane
  • Herbs such as parsley, mint, dill, basil and oregano
  • Sprouts such as alfalfa, broccoli
  • spinach
  • Celery leaves
  • Swiss chard
  • kale
  • rocket
  • Leaves of carrots, radishes, kohlrabi, beetroot, broccoli, cauliflower

Variable flavor additives:

  • Freshly squeezed orange juice, lemon or lime juice
  • Linseed oil, almond butter or sesame butter
  • Ginger
  • Raisins
  • Spices such as cinnamon, cardamom or real vanilla.

The basic recipe for a delicious green smoothie
Blend 150g green vegetables, 150g fruit and 2dl water for 2 minutes. The types you use are up to your taste.
Blend your smoothie until creamy, but not too long. If you blend it for too long, heat will build up and damage the heat-sensitive vitamins.

Spinach smoothie
Blend 150 grams of spinach, 2 bananas, 150 milliliters of freshly squeezed mandarin or orange juice and 1 tablespoon of almond or sesame puree until smooth.

Carrot green smoothie
Finely pureethe greens of three carrots, 150 grams of baby spinach, 1 peeled orange, 1 mango, 1 banana, 1 tablespoon of linseed oil and 400 millilitres of water .
